Once again ~once and for all~ my
The Majestic Mera
ATLANNA
Marella
Aqualad
Tempest
Deep Blue also known as Indigo
POSEIDON
OK, OK ~ it's really ARIEL... of course!
She's not the real Little Mermaid though; she's just Disney's.
But that's another story...
Aquaduck
FATHOM
Lady of the Lake
Tsunami
...whatever this is!
NAIAD
SIREN... GRIMM NAIAD... AND THE LITTLE MERMAID
FAITHFUL TO THE TAIL (!) by HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN!
AND IF THERE EVER IS
A TEAM GATHERED UP
OF THEIR KIND ~ AT LAST...
... because I am no longer holding my breath
for the day to come for my very own
AQUA FORCE!
Labels: AQUA, King of the Seven Seas, simulpost

... think I've found the perfect name for "whatever that is" back there...
(swim back up; the buoyancy is just right for that, on a bloggety-bloggety blog...!!!)
SHE IS...
THE MOTHER SUPREME OF THE AQUABATS!
Am I right?
Huh?
Let none ever point out that I forgot a bunch of sealogged characters here...
HEY - MARELLA (for instance) took the spot that would have gone (in other times) to the likes of... Nuada... Ulla Paske... Lori Lemaris, maybe?
SO NO MENTION OF ANY OTHER - ESPECIALLY NOT ANY SUB-PAR CHOICES HERE --- CAPISCE???
And as for A GATHERING OF THIS KIND EVER SURFACING IN THE SEAS, SOMEWHERE...
DC has been listening to me for years now - YEARS! They did something similar to my concept with CHASE... Their treatment failed. (Mine would have not - I remain convinced!)
Countless other ideas of mine -COUNTLESS- were refunneled through their scribes - onto their so-called "canon" through the years...
AND NOW...
DC has decided to, indeed, put together just such a gathering: very simple, in fact...
They simply gathered up the supporting cast of the one and only AQUAMAN - in an official manner.
Mera, that new sidekick Jackson Hyde (is it the same as Karhl Durr'ham - or whatever he was called, in Young Justice? Who knows???) along with Tempest and an Aquagirl (doesn't look like Lorena; can't be Tula. Then who is she???) and, if one wishes to count him too, the reborn Aquababy...
And the team is called...
AQUAMEN.
Just pluralize it - like the X-Men, eh?
Just when the X-muties are X-panding like crazy (with an X-Legion, X-ceptional, X-citement, X-House, X-Lodge, X-kitchen sink, X-whatever!!!)
WOW.
...
ALAS...
Of course...
The two poor saps (because they needed to be two in order to concoct something close to the saga that I had dreamt of, way back, in my teens - all by myself!) at the helm of AQUAMEN saw their Adventure cut short... with cancellation.
After a BILLION-DOLLAR MOVIE at the worldwide box-office...
After a movie franchise in most capable hands (James Wan) ~ something that is still debated upon when it pertains to every other DCEU film franchise there was - or ever could have been...
After making a BIG SPLASH, therefore...
AQUAMAN is back where he started.
And all the other aquatic folk...?
In deep, deep waters - the abyss of limbo.
:-(
2025, though, promises some swell tidings and other exciting aqua-events...!
James Wan wants to do a remake... of Creature From The Black Lagoon
(Aquaman's teammate in the Agents of the Abyss there... lol)
Disney is done with Ariel
But that mean SIREN is still making waves!
Aquaman himself, along with Mera, Tempest, Aquagirl (and, maybe, anorexic Aqualad, mulato & LGBTQ Aqualad, Aquadog, AQUAWOMAN, the Lady of the Lake, Naiad, Tsunami, Neptune Perkins and that hellacious queen of the AquaBats there - lol) may ALL make a grandiose comeback in the NEW DCU - courtesy of James GUNN, this time.
And all the recastings that Gunn has done.
Look for most of the Guardians of the Galaxy to be recast as Aquamen, then...
But that's another story.
AT LEAST...
NO MORE NAMOR.
ROTFLMAO
I shall miss the Wan contributions to the AQUA MYTHOS:
(sounds better than Aqua Family, huh?)
The BRINE KING, voiced so aptly by John-Rhys Davies - he was awesome
(especially in the AATLK sequel ~ "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom")
NEREUS as portrayed by DOLPH LUNDGREN
ATLANNA / NICOLE KIDMAN, of course...
Wan's casting for the key part of Thomas Curry, Lighthouse Keeper... it was cool that Aquaman's father was, essentially, Boba Fett!
(way cooler than earlier plans - back in the early 2000s, when a series was being planned, they wanted "Man From Atlantis" Patrick Duffy to be Tom Curry to Justin Hartley's Aquaman...!)
Even the actresses chosen for the unusual parts of LADY KARSHON and the Portuguese-speaking mercenary STINGRAY were... AWESOME (to quote Momoa!)
And, of course, Patrick Wilson as Orm, the Ocean Master... he was the real Aquaman, by default
Yes...
All of this - and more - will be sorely missed
Unlike the sad lot of oddball misfits from what-is-it-called... TLAPALLAN?
NOOOOOO - IT CANNOT BE!
DC has Tlapallan ~ I was going to use it in my Aqua Force as yet *another* lost city of Atlantis...!!! My new character creation (the character-find of... er, let's just say years ago!) was to originate from there and represent his people in the AQUA FORCE international team: Traftharr The Warrior!
Not TLAPALLAN ~ TALOCAN!
A murky, muddy waters realm right next to several of those places DRUMPF refers to as "shithole countries" - but, also, right next to the fictional wondrous nation of WAKANDA... LOL
ANYWAY...
Safe to say that we won't be seeing any more of those feathered weirdos from "Talocan" - ever again either!
Unlike the world-building of James Wan's franchise, those will not be missed!
MY AQUA FORCE -
which was, in part, rendered alive by James Wan in AATLK right there -
the team that could have been... that I had put together... consisting of ATLAN, NUADA, TUATARA, Volthar, Dolphin, Neptune Perkins, Tsunami, Indigo, Vulko, Lori Lemaris, Iqula, S'Ona, Letifos, MERA, AQUAMAN and many, many others...
Now THAT would have been AWESOME.
Like Momoa cannot imagine!!!
It is detailed elsewhere, here, on Blogger - on the infinitesimal portion of the oceans that make up Blogger which would belong to my own self-proclaimed "Luminous Blog Network" here - more specifically, on the blog titled "aqua musings"...
Yes ~ it would have been
What would be really cool, for 2025...?
A new AQUA EXPO ~
in LISBOA, PORTUGAL
Hasn't it been 25 years since the first one...?
Or more than that...!
It's time for another one!
