TGLP

You've all heard of LGBTQ - of course...

Well... TGLP here shall stand for

The Great Lesbian Proliferation

- as every TV show on every network there is now

appears to have two or several lesbians on board!

Which ones are... let's (lez?) say... more convincing?

-----------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know... I am stepping onto your

exxxclusive playground, TRIPLE A...

You let me know how I did... eh?

Women's Rights Day inspired me?

And speaking of which...

it's not like it's anything new... of course!

Top Ten Videos

As originally seen on The Saudades Blog (... tantas saudades!) not so long ago... no... just some ten (10) years ago! The trigger: a top ten of the best videos of all-time, seen on msn.com at the time, and that evoked so many nice memories from my adolescence (and insouciance...! Those were such good times, back then. And, already, I was luminous; right, virtually all of the time! Épa - aquile era mesmo OTIMO!) that I just had to edit that list by issuing my own version of it - illico! (No pun intended!?)
The msn top ten can still be found here - I do believe? (Didn't click to verify if it is still there, though!)

Those msn picks coincided mostly with those years
that are covered on the ol' Saudades Blog; 1980 to 2005,
roughly speaking... Or so did I extend it to!
MSN had many of the memorable ones on its list -
me, I have my own memories...
Luminous memories ~ and choices to match!

Mine starts right HERE:

- Number 10 -
tie

- Number 9 -

- Number 8 -

- Number 7 -
tie ~ of sorts

- Number 6 -

- Number 5 -

- Number 4 -

- Number 3 -

- Number 2 -
tie

- NUMBER 1 -

Everything You Need!

SOUNDTRACKS - AGAIN!
Or, as properly said, songs that adorn
the actual soundtrack of a film;
as the "soundtrack" as the term says it
is the entire film's worth
of every sound it contains -
it has been so since the advent
of the "talkie"... folks!

A good soundtrack - rife with SFX and
the appropriate music to emphasize the exact
moments it needs to, when it pertains
to the action on the screen -
greatly enhances a movie.
Verily, it makes all the difference!
Some songs end up embodying the entire thing:
as they sum up everything you need to know
about that epic production!

And now that that has been clear again...
ONWARDS WITH THE TUNES!

First came the enigmatic Sia
(with a little help from Labrinth)
who was clearly inspired
-by Rupert Gregson-Williams,
among other notables-
when she came up with this song
for the first super heroine:

Celine Dion saw that -
and she thought she would
establish that, as she did
in 1997 with her song for "Titanic"
she is supposed to be
the uncontested queen of
movie tunes -
de facto queen of the super hero
theme song as well... eh?
Alas - she chose the wrong
"hero" to do so...
And the result was... this:

And then... the real deal!
Inspired by a true hero,
an amazing heroine in Mera
the dynamic between the two
and another epic score by
Rupert there...!
Skylar Grey came and eclipsed
everyone that came before
-much like Aquaman did,
with all super hero films ever!-
with this end credits song:

It is not to even be debated here:
THE WINNER IS
SKYLAR GREY

And the entire soundtrack
for Aquaman - trailers and movie; BOTH

At times, it becomes, all at once, the aquatic version
of James Bond 007... Blade Runner... Tron... and Star Wars!
Tremendous job, Rupert - and everyone!

Year-End Box-Office Drawn-Out

... FIGHT TO THE FINISH ...
(of 2018)
!!!

THE TWO MARIES...
cancel each other out,
really!
_______________________________________

There's always
''Three Marys''
though...
________________________________________

But then there is
that buzz floating around -
BUMBLEBEE

--- silly Tinseltown, though;
haven't they heard that
CARS POLLUTE,
ROBOTS ARE EVIL and
BEES ARE DEAD.

And we will die with them.

But that's another story.

Onwards with the MOVIES:
what about those
MORTAL ENGINES... eh

... well ...
That one was dead in the water
right out of the gate as well!

But speaking of water...

How is THAT for a perceived to be
perennial "fifth wheel" --- EH!
none of the above competitors
(Mary Queen of Scots,
Mary Poppins Returns,
Mortal Engines,
Bumblebee)
and none of the other 2018 rivals
for both cash and great honors
(Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War,
Welcome To Marwen,
that atrocious Venom
or anybody else you would care
to make a mention of here...!)
can touch this film:
AQUAMAN
is, without a doubt,
head and shoulders above
ALL of those productions
AND ALL SUPER-HEROES EVER
PUT TO FILM ---
for the sheer splendor of its
ATLANTIS!
And the directorial prowess of
James Wan!
And its incomparable cast
which includes so many notables
surrounding Amber Heard's Mera
and Jason Momoa's Aquaman:
Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe,
Dolph Lundgren, Patrick Wilson,
Temuera Morrison, Otis Dhanji,
Djimon Hounsou, Graham McTavish,
Sophia Forrest, Natalia Safran,
Randall Park, Michael Beach, Ludi Lin,
John Rhys-Davies,
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
and Julie Andrews...!!!

AND WAIT UNTIL
DVD AND DIGITAL SALES
START COMING IN, TOO...!!!

You may snub it for Oscar contention,
Academy STIFFS -
but you better not be giving it
to a Marvel instead
solely based upon sheer
box-office tally
or alleged
"social significance"
either!

 AQUAMAN
has changed
super-hero movies
and the industry
FOREVERMORE -
not anybody else!

Isn't it too bad
STAN LEE
isn't alive to see it
happening either...
hmm?
