45 vs 45

1945 may have been the end of the hostilities - officiously - but you just wait until 2045 now...

In this day and age -age being the key word here; oh, boy, is it ever- when we see things such as Batman v Superman... Rocky vs Raging Bull... Gojira vs King Kong... and so on, and so forth...

In this era where conflict is everything - and there is no peace...!

What could be better, at this time, hence, than a battle of the 45s - for not much at all, indeed!

So then... On your marks...
Get set...
FIGHT!

Wait a damn second now - or four, or five... 
She's not even on this for forty-five seconds?
Her guys won't last even that long?
It's only FOUR... or FIVE SECONDS?!?

The music industry owes a little and a whole lot to the number 45
- as Wikipedia reminds you...
First and foremost, 
it is a type of gramophone record classified by 
its rotational speed of 45 revolutions per minute (rpm)
Included in the title of "45 and Fat", a 1996 song by Babybird
The title of a 2000 song by The Atomic Bitchwax, "Forty-Five"
The title of a 2002 song by Elvis Costello, "45", both referring to the 45 rpm singles 
and to the artist's age when he wrote the song, 
which was released when he was actually...47
The title of a 2003 song by Shinedown, "45" (see it again - above!)
The title of a 2006 song by noodles, "45"
The title of a 2007 song by Ryan Shaw, "Do the 45"
The title of a 2007 song by The Saturday Knights, "45"
The title of a 1982 album by Kino, 45
The title of a 2012 song by The Gaslight Anthem, "45" (also above!)

The number 45 also means this, on this particular year:


It is a triangular number
(there are three sides to every story - eh?)
adding up all the decimal digits known to man
(0 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 = 45). 
which might not be as impressive to some
as the particularities of the number 23,
for instance
(just ask Jim Carrey
who was actually 45 when he made that film!)
but then again - remember this:
23 is only about half of 45...!
(The better half - of course!)

33 is the aliquot sum of 45 
which means, in the luminous world, 
that 45 is the True Age of Christ!

Jesus was wiser than his earthly age - 
everybody knows that!

And yet many of my mother's favorites died at the age of 45 - 
and at least one of mine did, too.

It is the atomic number of
rhodium.

None of that impressed you?
Well, this guy is 45, I'm pretty damn sure...
