Boston vs. Montreal - again - ON VIDEO!

And in song! And dance!

On this day that is purported to be Canada's day, let us pit the videoclip which features two Montreal Canadiens (dancing - a latino dance, of all things! A bogus, farcical latino dance, to be precise!) up against the videoclip from a true musical talent (several true ones, to be exact) which features two Boston Bruins - who even go as far as playing the guitar for the occasion, fittingly enough! All four players are from the same era (early 1990's) which is a saintly era for the simple and good reason that it is when the Bruins dominated the Canadiens on and off the ice, as these videos will show you without a shadow of a doubt...! The two hated Habs, though, somehow stole the Stanley Cup of 1993 - even though the Boston Bruins had the best record of the entire NHL that year and were the clear favorite to win it all!  How did this abomination happen, you ask? Blame the Bruins: they eliminated themselves in the first round of the 1993 playoffs, clearing the way for their foes who, ultimately, never met any true competition on that dire. disappointing (not to mention harrowing) springtime tournament...

But that is all another story - and the past, which we cannot change, so anyway...

Onwards to the videos - and their stalwart cameos!

First off - La Canada featuring comedic impersonator André-Philippe Gagnon along with disgraced and fired coach Denis Savard -then a scrawny forward- and disgraced and fired coach -then a defensive forward- Guy Carbonneau... (Note that even a local TV station there, MuchMusic to name it, CANNOT GET IT RIGHT: they credit the video-clip as ''Le Canada'' which would be right in any other mention of the God-Forsaken country EXCEPT HERE!  For this ridiculous song is NOT so much (pun intended, of course) about the country as it is truly all about a fictional dance ABOUT IT!  In French, a dance is a feminine thing - and, so, the title is LA Canada... Muchdumbasses!  You don't even know the specifics of your own ''official language'' (the second one, but still) - that is PATHETIC!  But I digress...)

And now the true musical artist(s) here - Extreme with Boston's own front office man Cam Neely -then the best right winger in the NHL- and enforcer extraordinaire Lyndon Byers!

Now, you tell me which you prefer to listen to the most: Gary Cherone being an original soulful artist, or A-P Gagnon's easy impersonation of Julio Englesias...!

Nuno Bettencourt's mastery of the guitar - or mock "Jean Chrétien" playing the drums!

Neely's rock'em sock'em style or Savard's sappiness!!!

The choice is yours...!
