Everything You Need!

SOUNDTRACKS - AGAIN!
Or, as properly said, songs that adorn
the actual soundtrack of a film;
as the "soundtrack" as the term says it
is the entire film's worth
of every sound it contains -
it has been so since the advent
of the "talkie"... folks!

A good soundtrack - rife with SFX and
the appropriate music to emphasize the exact
moments it needs to, when it pertains
to the action on the screen -
greatly enhances a movie.
Verily, it makes all the difference!
Some songs end up embodying the entire thing:
as they sum up everything you need to know
about that epic production!

And now that that has been clear again...
ONWARDS WITH THE TUNES!

First came the enigmatic Sia
(with a little help from Labrinth)
who was clearly inspired
-by Rupert Gregson-Williams,
among other notables-
when she came up with this song
for the first super heroine:

Celine Dion saw that -
and she thought she would
establish that, as she did
in 1997 with her song for "Titanic"
she is supposed to be
the uncontested queen of
movie tunes -
de facto queen of the super hero
theme song as well... eh?
Alas - she chose the wrong
"hero" to do so...
And the result was... this:

And then... the real deal!
Inspired by a true hero,
an amazing heroine in Mera
the dynamic between the two
and another epic score by
Rupert there...!
Skylar Grey came and eclipsed
everyone that came before
-much like Aquaman did,
with all super hero films ever!-
with this end credits song:

It is not to even be debated here:
THE WINNER IS
SKYLAR GREY

And the entire soundtrack
for Aquaman - trailers and movie; BOTH

At times, it becomes, all at once, the aquatic version
of James Bond 007... Blade Runner... Tron... and Star Wars!
Tremendous job, Rupert - and everyone!

Year-End Box-Office Drawn-Out

... FIGHT TO THE FINISH ...
(of 2018)
!!!

THE TWO MARIES...
cancel each other out,
really!
_______________________________________

There's always
''Three Marys''
though...
________________________________________

But then there is
that buzz floating around -
BUMBLEBEE

--- silly Tinseltown, though;
haven't they heard that
CARS POLLUTE,
ROBOTS ARE EVIL and
BEES ARE DEAD.

And we will die with them.

But that's another story.

Onwards with the MOVIES:
what about those
MORTAL ENGINES... eh

... well ...
That one was dead in the water
right out of the gate as well!

But speaking of water...

How is THAT for a perceived to be
perennial "fifth wheel" --- EH!
none of the above competitors
(Mary Queen of Scots,
Mary Poppins Returns,
Mortal Engines,
Bumblebee)
and none of the other 2018 rivals
for both cash and great honors
(Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War,
Welcome To Marwen,
that atrocious Venom
or anybody else you would care
to make a mention of here...!)
can touch this film:
AQUAMAN
is, without a doubt,
head and shoulders above
ALL of those productions
AND ALL SUPER-HEROES EVER
PUT TO FILM ---
for the sheer splendor of its
ATLANTIS!
And the directorial prowess of
James Wan!
And its incomparable cast
which includes so many notables
surrounding Amber Heard's Mera
and Jason Momoa's Aquaman:
Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe,
Dolph Lundgren, Patrick Wilson,
Temuera Morrison, Otis Dhanji,
Djimon Hounsou, Graham McTavish,
Sophia Forrest, Natalia Safran,
Randall Park, Michael Beach, Ludi Lin,
John Rhys-Davies,
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
and Julie Andrews...!!!

AND WAIT UNTIL
DVD AND DIGITAL SALES
START COMING IN, TOO...!!!

You may snub it for Oscar contention,
Academy STIFFS -
but you better not be giving it
to a Marvel instead
solely based upon sheer
box-office tally
or alleged
"social significance"
either!

 AQUAMAN
has changed
super-hero movies
and the industry
FOREVERMORE -
not anybody else!

Isn't it too bad
STAN LEE
isn't alive to see it
happening either...
hmm?

*JL* SDTK!

You didn't like the Justice League movie,
released last year and just issued
in Blu-Ray and DVD...?

Curse you to Apokolips - and beyond!

However, before you're deported via a
good old-fashioned ''boom tube''
(kirbyism - not my fault!)
and become Granny Goodness' b!tch...
Try and make sense - for once -
LISTEN to this GREAT
SOUNDTRACK -
and pick a tune.

NOW

Oopsy-do...
Got carried away there... once again!
BUT YOU ALL DESERVE IT -
TO BE SHOT FULL OF H20 HOLES!
Giving billions to BP and Coco... COCO!
And not to the Justice LEAGUE...
THE... JUSTICE... LEAGUE!
What an Injustice!
So... I got carried away here.
But surely, although you're most likely
a third Marvel Zombie...
a third BIASED CRAP...
and a third plain moron...
you can still tell the difference
between the actual film's music
and other tracks... that come from elsewhere
and elsewhen... RIGHT?!?

See if I care!!!

BvS versus BvS - lol

I have had very little luck with embedded music on this -or any other of my blogs! STILL... Here we shall go again, simply due to the fact that I like to be able to supply a listen in order to properly judge the material... right? It cannot be done otherwise! Hence - here we are now...

I have previously stated my belief that Hans is a hack - I know... And someone named ''Junkie XL'' should NEVER get my luminous nod of approval here - anywhere! But this has been haunting me ever since I first heard it...
Let's take it to the people!  Let THEM decide...
Which one of these tracks is LESS OF A not-so-subtle-HACK then: in other words, which one comes the closest to being almost-original...?!?

The soundtrack of that somewhat-maligned film certainly delivered what it was supposed to - it enhanced the action on that screen, rendering it less ''comic-booky'' and elevating it to a level that it may not have been supposed to reach - ever. (And that goes for ALL ''comic-booky flicks'' - but that is another story, another debate - for another blog!)

CHOOSE between the two best pieces of music from the ''Dawn of Justice'' (the much better title for that flick - its subtitle!) that raked in somewhat less than expected, at the box-office: 850-some millions, when they hoped for more than a billion. Boo-hoo.

THE PIECES ARE...    ''BEAUTIFUL LIE''

and ''IS SHE WITH YOU''

And, in closing...
may I add my true feelings here...
(as if they were not obvious enough!)
and say ''why, oh but why
wasn't there MORE of a true DAWN
of JUSTICE in this film:
more Wonder Woman
more Aquaman
more Flash
more Cyborg
- more LEAGUE!!!''

Unbelievably enough,
most of fandom out there
thought the exact OPPOSITE...!

DC Fans - as bad as Marvel Zombies!
(must be the ultimate insult right here!)
:-)

A Special DC-CW-WB Taste Test...!!!

Which attempt to make a quick buck
is mightiest ?!?

Powered by AOL Video

The AQUAMAN pilot episode
shot for in excess of 11 million$
and mistitled as
''Mercy Reef''
to try and lure
ALL sea travellers
to its shores...?

Powered by AOL Video

This ludicrous riff
-a BALLAD, no less-
made to attempt to
''unridicule''
two of the most absurd
aliens of all time -
Zan and Jayna
aka
the Wonder Twins!

Powered by AOL Video

OR...
this inane series
starring whatshername
(Christina Applegate)
and the lone episode of note
would be this one, Jesse [NR] Sea. 1, Ep. 4
which we are tempted to call
''LIVE NUDE GIRL VERSUS JESSE''
In it, "Jesse assumes the worst
when she spies a naked woman
(model MARCI BRICKHOUSE)
in Diego's home."
Boo-hoo.

...

THESE are the videos we can find on AOL's
''In2.TV''

So... This Is Aqua Music?

What is good enough for TONY HAWK, DARTH VADER and STREET FIGHTER - and the venerable city of Boston too - is good enough for the King of the Seven Seas... in his formative years anyway! This song was used in the pilot episode of MERCY REEF; ''Downfall'' by up-and-comer rockers TrustCompany - MR is the Aquaman series project for the former WB network now known as the CW network!

Vote for which property this song truly does justice!
Hawk, Darth, Aqua or... S.F.?!?
